To Great Beginnings:
She's the
much-adored face on television. 'Kumkum' has made Juhi Parmar a household
name
Talent:
You're either born with it or not. You can develop it but it's not something you
can learn.
Sex
appeal
: Is how one presents oneself. I think my sex appeal lies in my
eyes and my smile.
Men:
Most men are really untrustworthy.
Male
hotties
: Abhishek Bachchan!
If
I could change into someone else for a day
: I would change into a man...
any man. Women have to go through a lot of physical pain in their lives - that's
my only grouse. I would like to know what it's like to be a man... I know I've
just said that I find the entire species very untrustworthy, but well, I am
curious.
Relationships
:
Are the most important chapters in one's life. You have to nurture every
relationship... be it a lover, a friend, a child. You can't take your loved ones
for granted. But you know, one relationship that people usually do take for
granted is the one they share with their parents. It's not a conscious thing...
it just works that way because you know that come what may, they will always be
there for you.
I
hate:
Liars. And two-faced hypocrites.
Television
is the best place to be
: Because the new wave of television is completely
female dominated... and I love it. It has tremendous potential.
Awards:
Are very, very important. Everybody works very hard for his or her shows and
when they are felicitated by an award, it feels great. It's a way to show the
artists how much their hard work is loved and appreciated.
The
institution of marriage
: Is a gamble. And I am not a gambler. I am very
scared of getting into it.
One
crazy thing still to do
: I have a dream... a goal that I have set for
myself. The day I achieve that, I have decided that I will go to Marine Drive
(Mumbai), stand next to the sea and scream... I will scream my heart out.
Tricks
of the trade
: Hard work, sincerity and loads of focus.
Playing
the protagonist
: Is a big responsibility. It gives me a real kick to play
the lead but at the same time, it makes me very jittery. If a programme where
you play the title role does well, you get appreciated and win accolades, but if
the show does badly you get the brickbats and all fingers will point solely at
you. It works both ways.
Kumkum's
success:
Why I feel it's different from the rest of the shows is because
it's essentially a love story between two individuals who shared a completely
different relationship before (she was married to his brother) and how
circumstances led them to get married first and then fall in love.
Bollywood:
I would love to do Hindi films - I enjoy singing and dancing but I want to do
clean and entertaining films, no cheap stuff!
Would
love to work with:
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Yash Chopra and oh, I would
love to be cast opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
Success:
I love the feeling of being successful but I make sure I don't get carried away
and fly off - I make sure I keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.
Juhi
in a nutshell:
Is totally transparent, blunt and straightforward. No
bitching. If I have something to say, I'll say it to their faces.
