If
you're ready to heat up your look, just follow our steps and you'll be smokin'
in no time!
YOU can never
really have enough of smokey eyes. And while you may think you know what this
look entails, you haven't maxed it till you try it out with the new metallic
greens and sheer blacks.
Face
Apply
moisturiser first to prime your skin. Next, mix sheer foundation with a
shimmering bronzing liquid to give the make-up a radiant coppery look. Apply
your foundation using a brush or sponge and then go over it with your fingers to
smooth. Mix a small amount of foundation with your concealer. This will make it
easier to blend. Using a concealer brush, apply a small amount under your eyes,
on the eyelids and to any blemishes. Set your make-up using a pressed
powder.
Using a rich orange
or brown powder blush, apply colour to the apples of your cheeks blending it
back toward the hairline. Use small circular motions. Next go over the original
blush colour with a light peach powder to create glowing
highlights.
Line your lips
with pencil in a soft nude colour. Using a lip brush apply warm shimmering beige
lip colour. Top with a light coat of a pinky beige gloss. Try using a bronze
pink shade to extend the look of a summer
tan.
Eyes
First,
apply a pale silver/beige shadow all over the lid as a base coat. (This colour
can also be used to highlight the top of the cheekbone, just under the eye.)
Then, working with a warm bronze shadow, use a blending brush to sweep the
colour across the eyelid and up into the crease. Start the colour lightly and
build the intensity
slowly.
Using a black eye
gloss, use a brush to gently push this colour into the lid. Keep the colour more
concentrated and wet looking toward the lash line and a bit more subtle and
sheer toward the crease.
To
set the gloss and add a little sizzle to the look, press a shimmering metallic
green shadow over the gloss and use a liner brush to also press this colour into
the lower lash line. It's important to press the colour and not sweep it. If you
sweep you'll end up with a lot of shadow fallout.
With a green or black
eyeliner pencilline the inside of both the top and bottom lashes. Go back over
the bottom lashes running the pencil along the outer edge. Make sure to blend
and slightly smudge this colour. The key to a smoky look is all in the blending.
There should be no hard lines, thus the name
'smokey'!
As a finishing
touch, apply mascara to both your top and bottom lashes.
