The
Look:
Should we say a pure blend of funky and folk? Colourful tribal
motifs and tattoos danced on his clothes. An earthy tone broke the spell at the
start and created ripples. The show was an interpretation of the Colour-Drenched
cosmetics collection by Lakme. Raw and natural fabrics like coarse linen, jute
blends and even canvas and knits, were the designer’s choice for short
skirts, shorts, minis, long and wide skirts.
We Liked:
The
overalls and work clothes, redefined with random tie-dye technique of marbling
on denims and encrusted with bunched-up crystals. The acrylic transparent
skin-fit top with crystals was not in the prêt line but had the required
thematic ramp appeal. Tattoos with crystals, peeping out from under the clothes,
were actually folk prints on skin-coloured stretch net (hey men, are you
listening?).
Creative
Touches:
Stitches spread out as branches on georgettes in the tribal
collection (that was innovative!). Nice eclectic mix of feminine flounce and
frill with a few variations of puff sleeves.
The Verdict:
Quite a ready-to-wear line with elements of spunk in acceptable
proportions.
