The Look: Ah! What a dream! Bods with flawless skin, make-up and hair dripping with gel to create a sensual wet look... Wendell Rodricks finale sprayed whites, pastel blues and peaches all over. Asymmetric hems and cuts with fabric flowing all over — which have always been his forte — ruled again. Long tunics, kurtas, skirts, tops and dresses were shredded high and low and combined with textures in light and soft fabrics like organza, georgette, knit and more.
We Liked: The simplicity, textures and random sprinkling of crystals which radiated exuberance. You could actually deviate from the usual and team the pieces with basic skirts and trousers.
Creative Touches: Too many! Especially the drape with Origami-inspired folds and pleats, the pink acrylic bustier and the humongous organza skirt (the heart skips a beat just at the thought of it!)
The Verdict: A dramatic yet wearable collection — both as separates and coordinates. Wendell’s art of creating interesting shapes with fabric and paper gets stronger every year and he proves his mettle for innovation yet again!
