This is a step-by-step process that I followed, even as MAC make-up artist Tony worked on a model to create the perfect Porcelain Look.

Step 1

Pre Foundation. I used Studio Moisture Fix, which came on as a pre make-up moisturiser. Dabbed on in adequate quantities, it creates a smooth, moisturised base for the foundation.

Step 2

The Foundation. As the result desired here was to get skin as flawless as a ramp or print model's, I was given a foundation that would give my skin the sheen and perfection of plastic. A bit unreal, but well, I could see it would be a great transformation. Hyperreal SPF 15 Foundation was the one chosen for this job.

Using a foundation brush, I took little dots of foundation from the 25 paise coin sized box, squeezed it on to the back of my hand, and painted my face.

The best way of applying foundation, according to Tony, is to first paint it across the face sideways, from cheek to cheek across the nose.
