Workout
Wonders
: Tired of the same gym and jogging routine? You need to change
your exercise schedule regularly to avoid boredom. Invest in a bike and watch
your body go from out of shape to toned super fast. Riding a bike requires more
muscular effort than walking and it's a great low-impact, aerobic workout. A
ride to your local market or to your friend's house is a great way to work those
thigh, bottom and lower leg muscles. Another great way to rejuvenate your
fitness programme is to take a dip. Swimming works most major muscle groups and
improves flexibility at the same time.
Stain-Proof
Your Smile
: Want your grin to showcase your pearlies? You need to eat
right to stay bright. Tooth enamel is porous and as time passes, it absorbs
colour from the food you eat. The thumb rule is: the darker food you eat or
drink, the greater will be the likelihood of your teeth getting stained. So
avoid black coffee, tea, colas, soya sauce, tomato sauce, red wine, etc. If you
must satisfy your cravings, then get in to the habit of brushing your teeth
right after you consume these items. Safe foods for your smile include lots of
water, white wine and chamomile tea.
Cop
Your Common Cold
: Got a running nose? You need to boost your immune
system by upping your antioxidant levels. Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin
found in all body fluids, so it may be one of our first lines of defence. The
body cannot store this powerful antioxidant, so it's important to get some
regularly - not a difficult task if you eat fruits and vegetables. Important
sources include citrus fruits, green peppers, broccoli, green leafy vegetables,
strawberries, raw cabbage and potatoes.
