Scene 2: At A Restaurant
/photo.cms?msid=27046060 Rule: Do not look over his shoulder to check out the people who are walking in.
You’re seated at a table (in a decent restaurant) with Mr Hunky; it’s not too crowded and the lighting is dim enough to be romantic. If he’s across the table from you, you will have to lean forward. Or, ask him to shift his chair around to the side. If he’s close to you, lean towards him — under the guise of being able to chat without disturbing the other diners.
Or lean forward and point out something on his menu card with a well-manicured finger. You could offer to let him try your food, and gently feed him a tasty morsel; no, not yourself... not yet...
Eating can be a major turn on, provided neither of you eats like a cow chewing the cud. Remember: Mastication is a private and personal process.
The advantage of this setting: You can flirt over a leisurely meal, without too many distractions. You can play footsie under those long table cloths. Just make sure he doesn’t have a mouthful of food when you decide to slide your foot up his leg! You want him reduced to putty by your charms, not by having to perform the Heimlich manoeuvre as he chokes!
Do not: Order spaghetti with bright red sauce, which will get on your chin, or will drop down your front, or will have you sitting there with long strands of it hanging out of your mouth as you frantically try to bite it off or spit it back into your plate.
So there you have it: The basic moves to get you and Man-of-the-Moment together in a light clinch. Though Sushma Sharma warns, “The thing with your body language is that you have to be very clear what your message is.
Being flirty to attract your date’s attention is fine — as long as you are ready for the fact that he will respond. If you are not ready for his reciprocal advances, you’ll be better off not giving him all these body-clues.”
Don’t turn it on without proper thought; You may realise you want to switch it off and it may be a tad too late.
