Drink Yourself To Good Health

Many glasses of water a day could keep the water away!
We all know that drinking water is good for health. It improves the condition of the skin, nails and hair, and helps eliminate toxins from the body, and reduce fluid retention. As a natural diuretic, water can help reduce high blood pressure by decreasing water retention in the blood. A common belief is that one feels thirsty whenever the body needs more water. While this is often true, research shows that there are several other indicators of inadequate water intake in some or all parts of the body. Ignoring these indicators can lead to low level dehydration and in the worst case scenario, major diseases.
Normally, a person's daily diet provides about two-thirds of the body's requirement of water. Some health practitioners suggest that you drink about eight to 10 glasses of water every day to meet the remaining one-third requirement.
One may need to drink more water when tired, sweating profusely, or when the body suffers from some disease It is also recommended that you drink water on an empty stomach half an hour before eating, or a couple of hours after eating, rather than during meals..
Using Water To Heal
Water has also been used for centuries to heal the sick. No matter what the specific health or fitness goal, one cannot achieve maximum benefit from any health programme without drinking the right kind of water in the proper amount as it aids in purifying the body.It renders the colon more effective by forming fresh blood, known in medical terms as Haematopasies. That the mucosal folds of the colon and intestines are activated by this method is an undisputed fact. If the colon is cleaned, the nutrients of the food consumed are absorbed and by the action of the mucosal folds, they are turned into fresh blood, which is important in the process of curing ailments and restoring health.
Water cure is a mode of treating diseases by the copious and frequent intake of water. Water therapy is an adjunctive approach that can be used with almost any other approach.
How It Works
When water is consumed in a span of five to 10 minutes, after a period of fasting that lasts for about eight to 10 hours, the pressure of water that grips the intestines activates them to a greater extent than usual. Due to the sudden water pressure, the bits and particles of food that adhere to the walls of the intestines, along with gases and other undigested materials, disengage themselves from the walls, dissolve themselves in the flowing water and are eliminated from the body. This in turn, gives the intestinal cells a new lease of life. The cells of the entire being also get revitalised. This sort of cleansing is especially beneficial in cases of cancer and also metabolic diseases.
Water is directly related to the kidneys and that is why water therapy rapidly does away with impediments within and ailments of the urinary tract. Water therapy not only destroys the bacteria in the urinary tract, but there is also a chance of ridding the body of any kind of stones or cysts with the same therapy.
Also, it has been advocated that the most classic form of fasting is with water. During fasting, the body burns up and excretes huge amount of accumulated waste. One can help this cleansing process by drinking alkaline juice instead of plain water. Elimination of uric acid and other inorganic acids is also accelerated in the process. The vitamins, minerals, enzymes and elements in fresh vegetable or fruit juices are beneficial in normalising the body processes. A good intake of water also has good results in cases of dyspepsia, joint pains, high blood pressure, cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, joint pains, heart problems, fainting, meningitis, cancer of the uterus, piles, stomach problems, bile, cough, wrinkles, pimples, paralysis, bronchitis, asthma, leucorrhoea, acidity, swelling, fever, headache, anaemia, obesity, tuberculosis, liver ailments, irregularities in the menstrual cycle, gas problems, constipation and so on.
DIY Drinking!
• Start by drinking 1.25 litres of water on an empty stomach every morning. Try consuming the entire quantity of water within five to 10 minutes.
