Looking for a flattering swimsuit? Ritika Ramtri Kumar tells you how to find one

The heat is on, and it's time to hit the pool. As you soak in the water, the last thing you want to worry about is your swimsuit. Truly, there are many ways to look sloppy near water - hiding from the sun in an oversized T-shirt or rolling a sarong around your hips like a bunched-up diaper.

A swimsuit is probably the most difficult garment to shop for - it makes you confront your body shape like no other garment does. On the surface, it would seem that swimsuits don't allow you to hide anything! Not true. In reality, you can camouflage or enhance quite a lot with the right swimsuit. But not all suits cocoon a shape right!

A few designer bikinis assume that a woman has no behind and an abundant, firm bosom, while mainstream suits sometimes go to the other extreme -underwires in bras (it works in many styles, though), restraining leg elastic and super chunky clasps to make a woman feel secure.

Somewhere between a supermodel's swimsuit and Grandma's trunk lies the perfect mermaid alternative - a suit that will make you feel like Venus. But how do you find it?
