With stylists constantly looking to reinvent hair, it’s
about time you worked some joie de vivre into your hair to celebrate your style.
Madhuri Velegar K combs it out with Bangalore-based stylist Rita Spratt
Hair has always been much talked about. Fashion in hairstyling is
constantly leaving the rulebook looks behind, what with hairstylists taking
their imaginations on a whirlwind world tour. Hop aboard for a
dekko:
1 I Got Disconnected
Visually balanced, but completely
disconnected is a new technique adopted by stylists. You can show off your
curves with this cut called ‘C curvature’, resembling the letter
‘C’ of the alphabet. C’est a coiff that highlights the hair
texture — in Pooja’s case wiry and straight — by according it
a sense of continuity. And to complement it, a darker colour has been used on
the crown, and a warm caramel for the hair underneath.

2 I Am Shattered
Model Komal’s face is enhanced by a
razor cut, to create sharp edges along the perimeter of the hair framing her
face, what stylists call the shattered cut. The fringe, too, is asymmetrical.
It’s a style that suits her sharp features and highlights them; one which
her healthy hair texture adopts to quite naturally too. Accessorising the cut is
the play with hair colour — subtle highlights in copper brown for the base
and beige blonde for the tips.
3 Give Me Texture
Model Unnati
gets a short crop, with a highly textured crown, and a fringe, using the `deep
point cutting’ method. The sides and back are short to suit her round
face. And the colour is an ash tone, a contrast to her blue eyes.
4
A Choppy Ride
Choppy, texturised layers help maximise hair movement. On
Pallavi, this cut also enhances her swarthy skin tone. A violet spray, just on
the edges along the hair layers, gives the style added dimension. Straight hair
with a hint of movement at the edges really works for
Pallavi.

Sometimes being lazy works, especially with hair. Just use a good
shampoo and conditio-ner, and let your hair be! But if that’s not enough,
here are some ways to hair relief:
* Do not over-shampoo to get hair
squeaky clean; it strips hair of all natural moisture, only to give you the
frizzies and flyaways.
* While shampooing and towel drying, do not
rub one hair strand against another, as this damages the healthy cuticle, makes
it rough. Just squeeze out the water from your hair with a towel, and let it dry
naturally.
After hair is about three-fourths dry, use a dryer with a nozzle
to style it.
* Most women skip the conditioner, after a shampoo.
Don’t; that’s the most essential part of your hair care routine.
Well conditioned hair bounces with health and stays tangle-free.
Don’t Be Careless About The Shampoo And
Conditioner You Use.
