Considering that feet travel over 70,000 miles in an average lifetime, they deserve the best care and attention that you can lavish upon them. Start right here:

KEEPING FEET ODOUR-FREE
* Dry between your toes carefully after bathing, because bacteria thrive in moist, dark conditions.
* Spray feet with a mixture of water and rose water after a workout.
* Soak your feet in a tub of tepid water to which a little lavender oil has been added.
* Change your socks if you have the tendency to sweat a lot.
* Wear open-toed sandals and shoes every now and then; your feet and nails need some breathing space, too.
* Dry out your shoes overnight if they are sweat-wet. Scrubs made from nature’s bounty
* Mash six strawberries and mix in two tablespoons of olive oil and a teaspoon of salt. Massage into your feet for a few minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
The result: Soft, smooth, sweet-smelling footsies.
* Gently scrub hard soles with a mixture of lemon juice and sugar to prevent calluses.
* Mix a tablespoon of oatmeal in a cup of water. Dip a fine pumice stone or a sponge in it and rub it over the base and sides of your feet. Do a good job of buffing the dull surface and sloughing off the dead skin.
* Mix half-teaspoon turmeric powder to half of a freshly grated coconut and gently massage it on your feet. Leave on for five minutes and rinse with warm water. Next, make a paste of 250 g grated carrots and two tablespoons of gelatin and pamper your feet with it. It helps condition the skin with essential nutrients after the exfoliating process.
* Use a mix of wheat-bran and milk to cleanse off the grime and to smoothen rough skin.

SOLE-SOOTHING TIPS
/photo.cms?msid=44053219 * Dunk your feet into a tub of warm water, containing a cupful of sea salt. The perfect combo to wash away any aches and pains.
* Relieve puffy ankles or weary feet by lying flat on your back, with your feet resting on a plump cushion to keep them raised higher than your head.
* Wear comfortable shoes, and avoid high heels that place a strain on the spine.
* Dipping your tired feet in a bowl of milk to which some heavy cream has been added not only revives them, but also gives you great touch-me, tease-me feet.
* Massage and exercise feet by placing a ball or foot-roller beneath and gently rolling it along the foot’s entire length.

SILKY, SEXY AND SOFT FEET
* Soak your feet in warm olive or sunflower oil for about 10 to 15 minutes.
* To pamper your feet with a natural moisturiser, whip up a paste of three tablespoons of pureed fresh strawberries and a handful of rice flour. Mask up your feet with this and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
* Before going to bed, massage your feet with a small amount of sandalwood essential oil, diluted in a little water. Its light, musky scent helps ease the pain and enhance your sexual awareness.
* Rough, cracked heels could do with a good soak in warm water to which a few drops of tea tree oil and a teaspoon of glycerine have been added. When the water cools down, remove your feet, pat dry and rub some camphor on the heels. This treatment also relaxes tense muscles.
* Mix some precious pearl powder with cream and slather your feet with it — the way to nourish and feed your feet with collagen and Vitamin E.

* Cut nails straight across to prevent ingrowth.
* Improve the colour of the tips of your toenails by dipping your feet in warm water, to which a few drops of honey and lemon-juice have been added. This will give your nails a clean and healthy look.
* Buff nails, with a nail buffer or a soft cloth and some beeswax. Do so in one direction until shiny.
* Moisturise and perk up nails by massaging them well with warm olive oil.

Indulge in these simple blends of herbs, fruits and oils to give your feet a makeover. Go ahead girl, cut a fine rug with soft, fruity-flavoured feet!
