Ashima Narain takes a
dekko
at ace lensman Subi Samuel’s chill-out zone. And here’s what she
finds.
This is the freakiest bachelor pad I’ve come
across,” insists photographer Ashima Narain. “I can’t
understand how a man, a photographer at that, can be so neat and
organised!”
Well, that’s the most consistent reaction to
lensman Subi Samuel’s Versova “workplace and chill-out zone”,
as he likes to call his studio. And why not? Especially since he spends most of
his waking hours here, even when he is not shooting stars and models!

There are no rolls of film and cameras lying around here. No
clothes-on-the-floor sort of scene. Considering he’s the
very-much-in-love-with-black kinda guy, Ashima was amazed by his use of colours
on the walls, which ranged from orange and electric blue to lime green and
yellow!
“No subdued colours for me, please,” claims Subi, who
has designed the place himself along with his friends. “It was totally
MAD.”
And what’s Ashima’s verdict: “It’s
evident that he has put a lot of effort into the place. And no mess, no fuss
— very unlike the usual number that you’d expect at a
bachelor’s pad.”
Psst:
Both Ashima
and Subi love shooting with Meghna Reddy. Her high energy levels leave them
amazed!
