Thanks to a regular beauty routine, Amanpreet Wahi has very clean, blemish-free, dusky skin. Make-up artist Meenakshi Dutt observes that the model's strong features need to be highlighted, otherwise the even tone can blend everything in

We shot Amanpreet with two looks, to demonstrate how the wrong hairstyle andunsuitable make-up contrasts with tones and textures that really suit her. In the first version, the model's hair was only blow-dried, not ironed out. This does not give her a neat look, as you can see.

Lakme's lip gloss no 23 in fuchsia pink was meant to add colour to her lips; instead, it only took away the glamorous look that we were aiming for. That's because she has a very 'strong' face, and the eyes were already coloured dramatically. The overall effect was, as a result, a bit vampish and not desirable.

In the second version, Meenakshi used Kryolan FS 28 in light panstick over areas that needed coverage. Then MAC Studio Fix NC 40 was applied all over her face in a slightly heavy coat. The model's jawline is perfect, so her nose only needed some shading.

Meenakshi did this with dark brown powder to make it more prominent. She used Gosh Effect Powder in Spa shade. She also applied VOV shadow (0502) in a light tone under the brow and in a slightly darker tone under the eyes, taking the strokes outward. Next, Meenakshi lined the inside of the eyes with kohl pencil and gave a heavy coating of Revlon Lash Fantasy mascara. To do this, she first applied primer mascara and let it set for 30 seconds. Then she put the lash coat for extra thick lash effect. On the cheeks, Meenakshi used MAC Mocha blusher and MAC'S Oyster Girl lip gloss.

The model's hair is slightly wavy, and has good texture. She has a little baby hair on the forehead, which needed covering. Meenakshi also noticed that a side parting looks very fetching on Amanpreet. So, she ironed the hair from roots to mid-section, and the ends were curled in with an iron. Finally, she used L'Oreal's mousse and serum to give the hair bounce and shine.This looks much nicer! Amanpreet is ready for a gala evening out!
