Nandu gives more importance to friendship than love. What comes first for you... love or friendship?

I rely on my own decisions. I do listen to people, but do what feels right. But I think love does come first for me (then again, it completely depends on the intensity of my feelings!).


Would you ever actually get into a physical fight with another man over a woman?

When I was in school, I actually smashed this guy's head just because Jagila (a girl in pre-school with me) asked me to. I suffered the music later at home, but if required, I'd do it again. I can't stand a woman being disrespected.


Does a man's behaviour change when he's in love? Tell me about how you changed...

I was aimless, almost worthless, when I met my first girlfriend. She brought about a complete change in me. I think a man learns how to be more responsible and respectable from a woman.


You're a good lookin' guy without the Nandu look. Does it concern you that millions of women, who might not be watching your other shows or your ads, see you in this look day after day, never knowing what lies behind it?

I was at this mall and this woman said to me, 'TV pe to aap bade ghatiya dikhte ho, aise acche dikhte ho (You look awful on TV but you look good off-screen)'. I didn't particularly feel like signing her autograph book! It's a character I play, I'm just glad I'm convincing. Also, looking good is a tough job. This way, I don't have to bother and can only concentrate on my acting!
